TK Maxx Edinburgh: A sneak peak inside the new store

TK Maxx Edinburgh: A sneak peak inside the new store

I’ve long been a fan of TK Maxx. From amazing accessories to surprise fashion finds and bargain haircare, it’s a one-stop shop for fashion-savvy bargain hunters.

That’s why I was especially excited to get a sneak peak inside the new St. Andrew Square store.

First of all, if you like cut-price designer, then this is definitely the store for you. While some TK Maxx stores can be a bit lack-lustre in their offerings, the St Andrew Square branch is packed with big names such as Moschino, Stella Mccartney and Roberto Cavalli. Yes, you will pay a little more for these but there is still many a bargain to be had.

The first floor serves as the accessories department, with a huge bag section. You’ll also find shoes, jewellery and beauty products here too.

Like all TK Maxx stores, you may need a good rummage to find something special (and chances are when you do it won’t be in your size). I thought the size 6 shoe offerings were a little disappointing, but then again isn’t that always the case?

For me, the real point of interest was upstairs to where the clothes are to be found. A word of warning, ladies and gents – TK Maxx St Andrew Square stocks the Gold Label, which is a collection of more high end labels. Currently the store is stocking a lot of Roberto Cavalli, with some See by Chloe and Versace thrown in. There are so many tempting pieces, I recommend going in with some serious money to spend, rather than on a tight budget.

However, just like shoes, sizing can be a bit of an issue here. I was surprised that before the store had even opened I was struggling to find unique pieces in a size 8.

Moving away from the gold label, the general stock was fine, but nothing life changing. That’s the thing with TK Maxx. You have to be willing to play the long game, but if you are then your efforts will definitely be rewarded eventually.

That’ll be my Christmas shopping sorted, then…
